Produced for 1 Citizen.

                                                                                                                              'Produced for 1 Citizen.'

In the name of ALLAH.

Alhamdulillah, my friends and I managed to finish our 1 Citizen program that was held on 16th and 17th March 2013 ago, at Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Law (AIKOL) of International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). We were handled by Madam Suzi Fadhillah, and she was assisted by Brother Musa.

To begin with, 1 Citizen is a training program organised by Minister of High Education (MoHE) and is developed by Prestariang Systems Sdn Bhd. Its purpose is to foster national unity through appropriate use of internet and technology. It also helps netizens to become critical thinkers in order to understand the consequence that they'll face resulting from their acts online. For those who join this program, they will be given an international level of certificate that verifies their understanding of the basic rules of internet usage.

All first year students are required to join this program, but they may choose different dates that they may do it. Therefore, my close friends and I decided to choose on 9th and 10th, but it was postponed to 16th and 17th due to emergency case of our supervisor, Madam Suzi.

The class was held in a computer lab in AIKOL. The class began approximately at 9 am, on Saturday (16th March 2013) and ended at noon of the next day, Sunday (17th March 2013). The lesson was held in a very leisure and relaxing situation, making us comfortable to keep listening to what Madam was presenting, without any regret of not enjoying our weekend like others.

There were 8 topics to be taught in these two day program, and at the end of the program we must sit for an online examination. Madam finished majority of the topics on Saturday, and completed the rest on Sunday, and after some preparation, all of us sit for our online examination.

The requirement to pass this online examination was we must get at least 640 marks, at least, out of 1000 marks. Alhamdulillah, I managed to get myself a number that was higher than 640! :)

This program taught me a lot about internet. The lessons, which were :

  1. e-Access
  2. e-Literate
  3. e-Rule
  4. e-Safety
  5. e-Interaction & Collaboration
  6. e-Enterprise
  7. e-Care
  8. e-Accountability
These lessons really taught me many new things. I got to know new info, such as what is the country that has fastest internet connection, and what are the countries that do not even have wide internet connection for the public. I also acquired new phrases, such as phishing, hacking and internet intrusion. Other than that, my friends and I were exposed to the consequences that we will face resulting from our actions, even online. In fact, cyber crime is more dangerous because the authority can detect the criminal more accurate and faster.

So, that was how I spent my weekend on that 16th and 17th of March, with my friends as well as lecturer from AIKOL. May ALLAH give us the chance to utilize the knowledge we gained from the program wisely, in the future when in need, insha ALLAH.

By the way, this entry is dedicated to Madam Suzi, as this entry will be submitted as my portfolio, in order for me to get that international level certificate :) Hope you like it, Madam. And not to forget, Madam's blog is awesome! :D

That's all for now.

Wallahu'alam, wassalam.
